What a lovely, peaceful religion!

Fanatic Muslims in the Sudan are calling for the death of a British schoolteacher who allowed her class to name a teddy bear "Mohammed".

According to the twisted Islamic Sha'ria law, anyone naming an animal or an object after "The Prophet" is subject punishment to the death.

This is just another example of this peaceful religion and the loving nature of its' followers.

After reading about this craziness for several days, my wife and I decided to name all 250+ of her Beanie Baby Bears "Mohammed".

Busy, Busy, Busy...

I want to apologize to all of this blog's loyal readers for the lack of posts recently.

Life has been some kind o' crazy busy here lately, and I've just barely had time to "answer my emails".

I'll try to do better in the future.

As a peculiar aside, the Governor of Kentucky, Ernie Fletcher, greeted Jeannie and I and asked for our vote in the election on Tuesday. It didn't help much, as he lost big-time.

Oh, well... at least he got OUR votes!

This Is Just Ridiculous

First, it was the religious fervor of so-called Global Warming. The zealots of that religion claim that human beings (specifically United States citizens) are causing temperatures to rise globally. Are You A Soda Pop Mutant?

New research from the United Kingdom suggests that drinking soda pop could be dangerous to your health.

From NewsMax.com:

...research reported in the UK's Independent newspaper says a common preservative used in fizzy drinks can switch off essential parts of DNA. The preservative may bring on premature aging and trigger diseases associated with old age.

The problem preservative is sodium benzoate, commonly used for many years by the $160 billion worldwide soft drink industry. Sodium benzoate, derived from benzoic acid, prevents mold in drinks like Coca-Cola...

It gets worse:

Alarm bells have already been ringing about it, because it's been discovered that when it's mixed with vitamin C in soft drinks, it creates the carcinogenic substance benzene.

...experiments show that benzoate damages DNA in the energy-producing mitochondria of cells.

Professor Peter Piper (!) of Sheffield University in England:

These chemicals have the ability to cause severe damage to DNA in the mitochondria to the point that they totally inactivate it: they knock it out altogether," Piper said. "The mitochondria consumes the oxygen to give you energy and if you damage it — as happens in a number of diseased states — then the cell starts to malfunction very seriously. And there is a whole array of diseases that are now being tied to damage to this DNA—Parkinson's and quite a lot of neuro-degenerative diseases, but above all the whole process of aging."

The "Great Move" Is Over!

Well... sort of over, anyway...

We are up and running at our new location! We still have minor, "periphery" things to move, but business has BOOMED in our first two days in the brand new space!

We are now the LARGEST comic book and game store in the entire State of Kentucky! Almost 9,000 square feet of comic book and game Paradise! Jeannie and I are like proud parents again; it's kinda fun.

CBS Execs Blame Couric's Low Ratings On The Public

CBS executives are blaming Katy Couric's low television ratings on the viewers.

This is what CBS News Senior Vice President Linda Mason says about the matter:

"I'm just surprised at how, almost 30 years after I worked on the "Evening News" as the first woman producer, that Katie is having such a tough time being accepted by the public, which seems to prefer the news from white guys, and now that Charlie's doing so well, from older white guys. I guess they want the reassurance of a Walter Cronkite.

I had no idea that a woman delivering the news would be a handicap. And I'm afraid that Katie's paying a price for being the first woman. But I think it's a great trail that she's blazing, and I think if the broadcast continues to be as good as it has been, if we continue to break news, if we continue to tell interesting stories, people will start to watch. It takes time, I think. But I was surprised that there was an obvious connection between a woman giving the news, and the audience wanting to watch it."

I don't know... I personally LIKE watching biased newscasts brought to me by arrogant, whining, liberal, socialist, men-hating feminists...
