Bible Quotes Of The Day: Part Three Hundred-Twenty-One

"And as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last, He will take His stand on the earth."

Notes:
1. The word "Redeemer" literally has several connected meanings. This also means "Vindicator"; or One Who metes out righteous judgment. This word could also be interpreted as "Defender", One Who defends and protects. Lastly, this word means "Kinsman"; a family member Who redeems (saves), defends (protects) and righteously vindicates punishment upon those who oppress His kinsman. In other words, if we are grafted to the life of God through the redemptive power of His Son, we are now part of God's family. He will protect, defend and save us from ALL that harms. WHAT A PROMISE!!!
2. The phrase "at the last" literally translates into "as the Last". Cross-reference this to Revelation 1:17-18. "I AM the First and the Last..." The God of Job in the Old Testament is the SAME God in the New Testament.
3. The word for "earth" literally translates into "dust". God stands on and over His creation. He is the absolute Ruler over all. If He is your Redeemer, He is also your Kinsman Defender Who will Vindicate you.

Bible Quotes Of The Day: Part Three Hundred-Twenty

"...for the kingdom of God is not eating or drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit."

Romans 14:17

Notes:
1. "is not eating and drinking": our righteousness does NOT depend on what WE do, but rather on the Lord Who does it through us! Cross-reference this verse to Romans 14:23: "whatever is not of faith is sin". If your works (acts) do not come directly from faith, you're committing sinful acts! "Whatever" that act is!
2. The "righteousness" comes from depending upon God through Jesus the Lord, and allowing His Holy Spirit to work (act) through the members of your body. The responsibility for that "righteousness" is totally removed from you; therefore freeing you, and placing it squarely upon God, Who is the ONLY One capable of "righteousness"!
3. Once "righteous"; i.e., getting out of the way spiritually so that God can take control, we receive "peace and joy" through His comforting Holy Spirit as we become exactly what we were created to be. Cross-reference this to Romans 14:18 to read what happens when we worship God in this manner.

"O Lord, forgive us for trying to establish Your kingdom in our hearts and on earth through our own fleshly works. Take now our hearts, minds and spirits, to create the exact purpose for which You created us. Fill us with Your pure, Holy Presence as You do Your good will through the members of our bodies. Let Your Name always be glorified through us, as we surrender to Your peaceful, joyful will.

Bible Quotes Of The Day: Part Three Hundred-Nineteen

"The One Who builds His upper chambers in the heavens, and has founded His vaulted dome over the earth, He Who calls for the waters of the sea and pours them out on the face of the earth, the Lord is His name."

Notes:
1. "upper chambers" literally translates to "stairs".  God ("The One") would not need stairs if He wasn't going to traverse them, ascending and descending them, metaphorically using them to interact with His creation.
2. Cross-reference "upper chambers" to Psalms 104:3. Read for yourself the interaction of the Almighty God with His beloved creation.
3. "The Lord is His name": YHWH; Yahweh, Lord God of Hosts. Whenever the word "Lord" is used throughout the Bible (both in the Old and New Testament), this is how it's rendered. So everyone out there who doubts that Jesus the "Lord" is indeed God Himself, remember this important fact.
4. Accepting that fact; and therefore accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, remember that the SAME God Who does the things described in this passage and throughout the Bible is the SAME God Who nows lives within you, by faith.

Bible Quotes Of The Day: Part Three Hundred-Eighteen

"And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful."

Colossians 3:15

Notes:
1. The word for "rule" in this passage literally means "act as an arbiter". Let the peace of Christ influence how you interact with all other situations and people. Let His life do the walking through total dependence upon Him. Let Him make your decisions-- they'll always be the best decisions.
2. The word "indeed" means "also". You were "also" called, just as the Apostle Paul was, and every other believer that has ever walked this earthly sod. You were called to depend upon Christ Jesus, therefore letting His peace "rule" your life.
3. The phrase "be thankful" literally translates to "show yourselves thankful". Take what the Lord has given you; His indwelling Spirit of Life, and say "Thank You!"
4. Cross-reference this verse to John 14:27, and read Jesus' own words concerning this topic.
5. Cross-reference again to Ephesians 2:16 and read about the One Body who was sacrificed to call us into a new spiritual body in Him.

Romans 11:29

Notes:
1. The word "irrevocable" is used in this Scripture passage. It means that it can't be canceled or voided. What God has given cannot be taken away. Once established or given, it CANNOT be reversed.
2. Cross-reference this verse to Romans 11:6: salvation is a gift of the grace of God. We can't do anything to save ourselves but surrender to His grace.
3. Cross-reference again to Romans 9:16: God's eternal mercy "does not depend on the man...but on God Who has mercy".
4. Salvation is BOTH a gift AND a calling. A gift that only our God can give, and a calling within that gift to new, true life and  repentance through Jesus Christ the Lord.
5. Taken completely within its' own context and in context with the whole of the Bible, this verse demonstrates emphatically that eternal salvation (the free gift of the life of God) CANNOT be lost. It is "irrevocable". Cross-reference this statement to Romans 10:2-11.

Colossians 4:2

Notes:

1. "An attitude of thanksgiving": If you're "devoted" to the prayer; i.e., putting your total dependence (faith) in Whom you're praying to, then you will be "alert" to the blessings which will flow from Him. If we pray to Him, then He will surely answer.
2. To be "alert" strongly implies that we're to relax; rest in God and watch Him deliver the results.
3. Cross-reference this verse to Acts 1:14 and Ephesians 6:18.
4. Be ready to accept the immediate blessings of God Himself! He is ready to get into action on your behalf!
